Objects Falling

Gravité from Renaud Hallée on Vimeo.

“Gravite” (Gravity) is film directed and produced by Renaud Hallee. The video shows objects falling from the air to ground such as sports balls, televisions, scissors, and more. As each item hits the ground, it demonstrates the effects of gravity and also creates rhythmic sounds. It is such a brilliant idea!

pixeles nueva york

life & death

This made me think of the life & death project. and its just pretty much awesome.

Vegetation and microorganisms live symbiotically inside the body of this robot. The robot draws water from a contaminated river, decomposes its elements, helps to create energy to feed its brain circuits and the surplus is then used to create life, enabling plants to fulfill their own life cycle.

Who cares?

http://www.anonymousvernacular.com/2010/03/24/the-who-what-when-where-why-and-how-of-portfolio-reviews/

I wish I saw this before mr. boadwee came.
It's a good, short, post about what questions you should ask yourself/ be prepared to answer before portfolio reviews/showing someone your work.
they're things we should be thinking about,
and it's short,
so,
read it.

Jesus was a woman

...at least he would have been in this Jerusalem.
was linked to Tanya Habjouqa's site for her women of gaza series
which is also great,
but found that she also has a series called "Jerusalem in Heels: Transsexuals of the Holy Land"
Some of the images in it are a little grainy, but I am so glad they exist.

roads to home

"Roads to home" will be on display for the month of April at the Black Drop Coffee House at 300 W Champion St. in downtown Bellingham. No reception, but if you'd like to go down for coffee with me sometime this month and tell me I'm fabulous, that'll be just as good. All color photos, all month long!

In other news, don't forget about the Labyrinth opening reception this Thursday. April 8 from 6 - 8 pm in the VU Gallery. Featuring several artists whose works were accepted for the 2010 publication, including me! The exhibition will be on view April 5 - 23 at the VU Gallery, open M-F 11-5.

captions are cool

some captions are stupid
some captions are great
most of these fall into the later category

"Homeschooling seemed preferable to spending 193 days rolling her eyes at the snot-nosed kids down the block, waiting for summer, but her parents’ idea of “integrated learning” was far more depressing."

it's cool nonetheless:
